like hermione’s handbag or dr who’s tardis, the bothy might look small from the outside, but its magic lies in just how much it can contain.
we’re a hub for community, support, and conversation - all while we pour a coffee and cook up some good scran.
the breakfast bothy
the breakfast bothy was opened by the team at carlowrie castle during lockdown of 2020. we had a simple idea in mind: to provide a hot drink and breakfast to those who are unable to provide for themselves.
since then, we've built a community of people who come for breakfast and stay for a chat. we’ve extended our opening hours, started serving lunches, and set up a token scheme with local businesses so everyone can have access to vital services they need.
our mission is to be a go-to spot for anyone in need of a hot meal, a friendly face, or some helpful advice and support. we’re continuing to evolve and expand our services to encourage a happy healthy community.
come and say hello
the bothy boutique
just a short walk from the breakfast bothy you’ll find the bothy boutique.
the bothy boutique is a charity shop and community hub at 134 marchmont road, edinburgh.
we sell excellent quality second hand clothing and other items at affordable prices. we also offer employment opportunities and tailored support to people experiencing homelessness.
profits from our wee shop go towards supporting the breakfast bothy to continue providing meals and support to our community.
we’d love for you to visit
