the ootsider jackets soon to be made available from the breakfast bothy

this winter, we're providing some of our guests with cosy, waterproof jackets made in scotland by the wonderful team at The Ootsider.

these jackets are perfect for keeping warm this winter, especially for our guests who are rough sleeping. they can be converted into a sleeping bag for those sleeping outside and are lined with a soft teddy fleece.

the fantastic team at the ootsider had the idea to create waterproof, warm jackets that are multi-purpose after spotting a man begging for change on a glasgow street in 2021. he was soaked through to the skin with his sleeping bag as his only protection. realising that these were his only clothes and he was not going home to someplace warm where he could change into something dry, the ootsider team knew they had to create something to ease the burden on people facing the harsh reality of homelessness and rough sleeping.

for every two jackets sold, one is donated to a person in need.

with winter quickly setting in, we are planning to provide jackets for our guests who need them from the breakfast bothy policebox near the meadows.
